Great Dane

I originally discovered DAY Birger et Mikkelsen several years ago when Napoleon – my rather short, and rather more bossy, boyfriend – professionally advised on their consolidating a foothold in the UK.

The first of the Danish brands to really make an impression on the international fashion scene, I immediately fell in love with their aesthetic: easy, feminine, modern pieces infused with Scandinavian functionality.

With a beautiful lookbook for autumn and a newly launched e-commerce store – to be found here! – they look certain to remain one of my firm favourites for many more seasons and years to come.

To be democratic, let us have an image for those chaps who may be reading or have wandered here entirely by mistake.  Here’s to hoping my aforementioned Napoleon takes the hint, bins the cricket shirt, and dresses this way come the winter…

The Perfect Storm

Perhaps reminiscent of the cardigan worn by Albert Steptoe, I still think this reimagined Stella McCartney knit would be blissful for snuggling on stormy autumnal days when leaves dance in the wind and comfort comes with bottomless mugs of hot chocolate.
